To some Teluk Bahang means the "Bay of The Glowing Amber" probably refers to the warm climate due to the sea breeze coming in shore. -my island.com-
Teluk Bahang is a fishing village situated on the northwestern part of Penang Island. Teluk Bahang is also the entry point for the Penang National Park, which will be my next destination for outing with my friends.
There are two ways to explore the park further: by boat and hiking.
The weather was so hot, I was wearing my lovely red shallow mouth low-heeled shoes which makes me feel so close to the bridge, I can even sense the hotness while walking along the bridge.
It is nothing much to see, except you can hike or take boat to Pantai Kerachut, Meromictic Lake, Turtle Conservation Center and Muka Head Lighthouse.
I saw there is a canopy walk there, RM5 for adult.
With your own transport, car, motorbike or bicycle, it's easy to find Teluk Bahang. Just need to follow directions in Penang to Batu Ferringhi and continue following to Teluk Bahang as there are road directions.
And of course, you can also take a bus. I saw few Rapid 101 were heading to Teluk Bahang. The Rapid Penang bus 101 or KGN starts from Penang ferry terminal or Komtar.
I saw many foreigners are enjoying the hot sun here, I was just holding my umbrella and hang around. I would say, I'm so easy to get sun burn nowadays, so I couldn't dare to expose myself to the hot sun again, learn from my mistake :-)
Well, this will be my outing for this coming May. Stay tune!
y u keep taking the bridge? lol~
